Camping

Alright. I admit it. I don't get camping. Who was the guy (lets face it, a woman would never have come up with it) who went: ("I know! We've spent generations evolving and learning to make houses and things. What people really need is a few bits of fabric and some poles between them and nature! I'm a genius!)

Trying to get dressed and undressed while lying down is just stupid.

And I'm developing a perfectly rational fear that I won't be able to get out of the sleeping bag/into clothes and wellies and then get into a loo without having an accident.

Slept a little better last night, despite the general chaos and rain. Last nights rain was the fine kind that gets blown around by the breeze and soaks you more than heavy rain.

As a result, couldn't face the trek to Arcadia, so have rescheduled for tonight, when apparently we should all be basking in warmer temperatures or, at least, no rain.

Listening to the campsite waking up around me. Next door but one is frantically pumping up his airbed, which he was also doing last night as I fell asleep, I hope the poor thing hasn't been doing that all night.

There's the gentle murmur of hundreds of conversations (most of them about wet wipes) and the backdrop of a hundred different sound systems competing against each other.

Who are the people who dance outside the Wine Bar? I understand dancing all night, sure enough. There are tents and stages dedicated to it, for goodness sake. So why the Wine Bar? It's soundtrack is something you'd get played at a wedding. They were booming out 'total eclipse of the heart'.

Bumped into a shell-shocked Aussie yesterday, paddling around up to his shins in mud, rain being blown around from all directions, screaming that it was warmer in Sydney and it was winter there.

It's a bit of a swamp out there, but apparently we aren't supposed to get any more rain. Fingers crossed that's what happens.

Zomg, Flogging Molly tonight. Can't wait.

You could just get dressed outside the tent. I'm sure no one would complain.

Oh no, poor broken-leg anonymous. Are you still on site? You have my every sympathy, and I shall no longer whine about my blisters. You shall be my inspiration.
