Poor Bono.

Blimey. What a difference a week makes. Suddenly we're plunged into chaos and turmoil and fresh speculation. It's a bit like the general election, only more interesting.

Will it be Coldplay, or Dizzee? Will rank outsiders Led Zepplin step into the breach? Will Beyonce wiggle her booty on the Pyramid? ..lord, I hope not. Perhaps it was all a conspiracy, and the Stones were going to play all along, but the bookies didn't want to pay out.

I've got my fingers crossed for a legend. Michael and Emily, if you're reading this, might I humbly suggest Led Zep, the Stones, Bowie or The Pogues? I've been ever so good this year and I'll leave you out a glass of cider and some home-made cookies. Maybe have a bit of a chat with Slash and see if he can arrange a Guns n' Roses reunion? Yes, I know him and Axl are all handbags-at-dawn now, but perhaps a walk around the healing fields could help them to put their differences aside and reunite one of the bestest bands in the whole world, ever.

In the meantime, for everyone else, here's a few more pictures of the site coming together. And look at the long drops! Ah, I have some fond memories of them. Particularly the time when the guy in the cubicle next to me popped his head over to ask if it was my first time at the festival, and was I having a good time?

 Not long to go now!

And just remember - flying kites and balloons is bad mmmkay?

Sneaky-peek at the festival site

Doesn't it look peaceful? Hard to believe that in less than a week every square inch of grass will be covered in tents, heaving bodies and over-excited people in silly hats.

The countdown starts here. Except that I started ages ago.

Skin flick!

One of the coolest things about living on the festival's doorstep is that you get to see the festival site taking shape in the weeks leading up to the main event.

Take for example, this little bit of video which shows the Pyramid having it's clothes put on, in comedy Benny Hill stylee, supervised by a particularly unimpressed Alsatian.

Not long to go now - and just to put everyone's mind at ease, no, it's not being cancelled because of Swine Flu, we checked this morning.

Are we there yet?

How exciting. Rolf Harris, Maximo Park, Spinal Tap, Kasabian, Blur, Neil Young and..um.. Status Quo. The full line-up has been revealed, I'm obsessively clicking on long range weather forecasts and have found myself looking at welly boots and wondering if it's worth shelling out £16 for ones with little designs on, or if I should shun labels and dredge out the green pair I wore last year. (Although this would mean digging them out of the garage and a thorough inspection to make sure no spiders have moved in.) Not that I don't have faith in the weather of course.

I'm really excited about the festival this year - promises of a long hot summer and the first line up I've been excited about since Rage Against the Machine played there in...um...I can't remember have made me come over all a-quiver.

Thoroughly looking forward to Rolf Harris. The guy's a legend and his stint on the Pyramid back in 2002 ranks up there as one of my all-time-best-Glastonbury-moments ever, (then again, my second would probably have to be The Wurzels last year, so let's not put too much stock in my musical taste.)

Quite looking forward to Blur, since the whole Brit-pop thing totally passed me by at the time and I've since found out that I kinda like some of their stuff.

And Neil Young. Neil Young. I can't wait. The idea of seeing him live is making me practically salivate with excitement.

In the office, we're all working our collective socks off on this year's festival preview and website, I've finally worked out how to make the Facebook page, somebody else is sorting out the Twitter thing so I don't have to and all in all things are starting to take shape.

I'm particularly excited about being able to blog while I'm out and about on the site (in theory, at least) and not being chained to the dodgy wireless connection in the press tent.

The whole festival is hanging in front of us, the festival site is taking shape on our doorstep and I. Cannot. Wait.
