People of England...

So, apparently Thom Yorke was spotted in the Tipi Field last night, parping away on a Vuvulswalea, or whatever they're called. Spotted Kate Moss yesterday, but had to ask a Pap who she was, since she looks about 50 when she isn't airbrushed to within an inch of her life, and also the lead singer of the Flaming Lips, but didn't know who he was.

Have heard a rumour that The Edge will be joining Muse on stage, and that Sir Ian McKellen has dropped out of the Scissor Sisters show. Mos Def was a no show due to a family death and apparently Slash's management are worried no-one will come and see him since he's on at the same time as the footy.

...I really wouldn't mind if it was him on stage and just me in the field. I'd actually encourage everyone here to show their support for this country in this titanic, unmissable struggle between two great nations. Who wouldn't want to be a part of the biggest football crowd anywhere in the country? Imagine the atmosphere, the giddy excitement. Cheering on your country in the baking heat. People of Glastonbury, I urge you. Watch the football. I'll look after Slash. I can represent 140,000 people. People of England. Go and watch England. You KNOW you want to. You owe it to your country. To your team. To yourself.

Apparently we can expect 30 degree heat today, and we're being advised to "stay hydrated, slap on the Ambre Solaire and try not to drop your ice cream." Since ice cream is selling for about £3 a pop, I can assure you there will be no droppage from me.
