Sunset at the Pyramid

Ooooh, not long now.

It's getting warmer and the sun doesn't bog off the first chance it gets, like a bunch of office workers on a Friday afternoon.

Camped under these, one year. Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
To tide you over, please find enclosed the festival site, during yesterday's sunset.

We're at...well, lots of days to go, still. I've already started my preparation though, spending way too much time perusing the anti-bacterial handgel section of Tesco before carefully selecting my purchase. You can never be too organised, apparently.

The headliners have been released, then - U2, Coldplay and Beyonce. The announcements were met with the usual cries of outraged punters who will cancelling their tickets, and taking to their keyboards in disgust with the usual cries of 'has been', 'cash cow', 'sold out' and 'too commercial'.

Zomg. Overly commercial bins!

I've never really got that. One year - I forget when, sadly - I managed to spend four days at the festival and didn't see a single band except for when I was wandering past one stage or another, on my way to somewhere else. I had a great time.

Honestly...people do know that there's like, a gazillion stages and three days of festival to go around, right? If you're spending all your time at the Pyramid...you're missing out on 99% of the festival. Who are these keyboard warriors who are so small minded that they'd really pass up on the best festival in the world because of what's on one stage out of fifty-odd, and over 1,000 bands, performers and musicians, spread over five days?

Worst sunset ever. I'll be cancelling my ticket. Yours sincerely, Angry, Manchester.

I'm not terribly excited about the headliners, but so what? That's three acts out of  ninety bajillion that haven't been announced yet. The chances that I won't find something that tickles my fancy is pretty minimal. So many other stages and tents you can take refuge in if you're that offended by U2, a comedy tent if you'd rather stick needles in your gums than little to Coldplay, and a whole world of green futures, Shangri-La and Arcadia to explore if Beyonce doesn't whet your whistle.

So peaceful...
Gutted that there doesn't appear to be a Chili Pepper and that the Eavises haven't managed to engineer that original Guns n' Roses line-up reunion, though.  Not that Reading and Leeds had much luck with Axl, but still. As always I'm crossing my fingers for a Pyramid slot for The Wurzels, but as long as they can be squeezed in somewhere, I'll be a happy camper.

Ah, who am I kidding? I'll be a happy camper, whatever.
